OutdoorsThe Samsung R711 doesn't make an especially good impression in outdoor use.( Dell Inspiron 1420 Battery ) The glossy display clearly makes it difficult to recognize anything in direct sunlight. ( Dell Inspiron 1520 battery ) You'll see what's happening behind you better than the content displayed on the screen, in particular when the sun is behind you. If you really want to sit outside with the Samsung R711, you should preferably do so in the shade.

The RF711's display surprises us in terms of viewing angles.( Dell Vostro 1320 battery ) While the picture fades fairly fast on the vertical plane, the display can score on the horizontal plane. The colors start to invert very late. So, even several people can sit around the laptop in a larger radius without the picture deteriorating.

The Core i7-2630QM belongs to the new quad core processors that Intel has launched with the Sandy Bridge architecture.( Battery Dell Vostro 1310 ) The processor has a healthy amount of performance just alone with its standard clock rate of 2.0 GHz and 6 MB L3 cache. The processor can be overclocked in several steps should it get tight. This depends on number of cores that are actually required and how well the processor is cooled.(battery dell 1400 ) When all four cores are really needed, Intel's Turbo Boost ensures that the core clock is increased to 2.6 GHz. The maximum clock rate is 2.8 GHz if only two cores are required and it can be clocked up to 2.9 GHz when only one core is loaded to full.

Compared with the new dual core processors,( Dell latitude D620 Battery ) the new quad core processors have a higher TDP (thermal design power) of 45 watts. Thus, the quad core processors are preferably installed in large laptops because a better cooling is granted. The new processor's performance is even a bit higher than the previous top model, the Core i7-940XM, thanks to the new architecture. Nvidia Optimus has been integrated into the notebook so that the user doesn't have to switch back and forth between the graphic cards. ( VGP-BPS13A/S Battery ) So, switching between both graphic cards occurs in the background, depending on the graphic requirements. The user is spared a lot of work and it is also beneficial for the battery's life since the appropriate graphics card is always enabled.

The Intel HD Graphics 3000 built into the processor is, as already mentioned, ( Battery Acer Aspire One ) rather more designed for basic graphic applications, such as office tasks or surfing on the Internet. It doesn't have its own memory, but shares the fast L3 cache with the processor. The rest is taken from the main memory. The biggest benefit of the Intel HD graphics is, however, its low power consumption.

Mostly matt surfaces are found when the RF711 laptop is opened. ( HP Compaq CQ40 Battery ) Wrist-rest, touchpad and keyboard gaps are all made of matt plastic. So, it doesn't have to be cleaned frequently. ( hp elitebook 8730p battery ) Merely the display bezel is made of glossy plastic. Samsung also set accents inside with different colors. So, the keyboard and hot key area are on a silver backing and let them clearly stand out from the black wrist-rests.

Samsung doesn't allow itself any major flaws in terms of manufacturing.( hp 4710s battery ) As expected, the display lid can be marginally depressed in a closed state. Nor is the display's torsional stiffness particularly high. Merely a bit of pressure is needed to twist the lid evidently. Auf der CeBIT 2011 in Hannover haben die neue Generation der Acer Aspire TimelineX Notebooks ihr Debüt gefeiert. Das Äußere wurde nahezu komplett überarbeitet, wobei das Unternehmen der gewohnten Linie treu geblieben ist.( Acer Aspire 5920G Akku ) Zusammen mit dem Isolation Keyboard (Chiclet Style) ähneln die neuen Geräte nun der Edel-Serie Aspire Ethos. Die matten Gehäuseoberflächen und der Displaydeckel aus Aluminium wurden passenderweise beibehalten. Auch die drei Gerätegrößen mit 13,3 (3830TG), 14 (4830TG) und 15,6 Zoll Display sind weiter erhältlich.( akku Apple A1175 )Das von uns getestete 5830TG ist mit letzterem ausgestattet. Dieses Panel bietet weiterhin eine native Auflösung von 1366 x 768 Pixel und eine hochglänzende Oberfläche.

Mit der Verfügbarkeit der neuen Intel Sandy Bridge( Dell XPS M1530 Akku )CPUs nutzt auch Acer die Chance und setzt im aktuellen Modell auf den Intel Core i5-2410M Dual-Core Prozessor mit einer Taktfrequenz von 2,3 GHz beziehungsweise 2,9 GHz über die Turbo Bost 2.0 Technologie. ( PA3534U-1BRS Akku )Dem zur Seite steht die neue Mittelklasse-Grafik Nvidia GeForce GT 540M mit 2 GByte DDR3-Speicher.( Acer Aspire One Akku )Mit der Grafikumschaltung Nvidia Optimus und großem 6-Zellen-Akku mit 66 Wattstunden sollen Akkulaufzeiten von über 8 Stunden möglich sein. Unser Testgerät, das Acer Aspire TimelineX 5830TG-2414G75Mnbb, ( Apple A1185 Akku ) ist zudem mit 750 GByte HDD-Speicher, 4 GByte DDR3-Arbeitsspeicher, USB 3.0 und aktuellen Kabel- und Funktechnologien ausgestattet.( Akku Dell inspiron 6400 )Diese Mainstream-Konfiguration wird von Acer zu einer unverbindlichen Preisempfehlung von 899 Euro vertrieben, wobei einige Händler (Preisvergleich) das Notebook bereits für 799 Euro anbieten.

Die Stabilität über dem Laufwerk fällt negativ auf.„( Akku Sony VGP-BPS2 )Alles neu macht der Mai“ heißt es im Bereich des Gehäuses. Das neue Design bleibt dabei aber dem gewohnten TimelineX-Aussehen treu,( Akku Fujitsu LifeBook T5010 )wobei einzelne Unterschiede auffallen. Die neue Farbkombination nennt sich stilvoll Ice-Blue und ist eine Kombination aus blauen, silbernen und schwarzen Gehäuseparts. Durch matte Gehäuseoberflächen wird der verwendete Kunststoff aufgewertet und der Displaydeckel aus Aluminium unterstreicht ein wenig den Premium-Anspruch. Fingerabdrücke, Staub und Kratzer haben auf den Oberflächen kaum eine Chance. ( Acer Aspire 5920G Akku ) Lediglich der hochglänzende Displayrahmen fällt aus dem Konzept und wurde offensichtlich eins zu eins aus dem Vorgänger 5820TG übernommen. Eine mattschwarze Lösung hätte uns besser gefallen.

Die Stabilität des Gehäuses hinterlässt einen größtenteils guten Eindruck und die gute Verarbeitung der verwendeten Materialen ist ein Pluspunkt, ( Akku Compaq presario CQ60 )wobei eine scharfe Kante am Displayrahmen als kleine Schwäche bleibt.( HP Compaq CQ42 akku ) Neu sind auch die außenliegenden und größeren Displayscharniere. Diese halten den leichten Deckel straff in der gewünschten Position. Nachteile sind ein sichtbares Nachwippen, die fehlende Steifigkeit der Bildschirmeinheit (Wellenbildung bei punktuellem Druck von Außen sind nicht festzuhalten) und das Öffnen mit zwei Händen. ( Akku Sony VGP-BPS13a/q )Der maximale Öffnungswinkel von 145 Grad kann weiterhin als positiv bewertet werden.

Die untere Gehäusehälfte ist aus mattem Kunststoff gefertigt und ebenfalls hochwertig ausgeführt. ( Dell Vostro 1710 Akku )Neben zahlreichen Lüftungsöffnungen und Aufklebern findet sich auch eine längliche Serviceabdeckung. Darunter findet sich das 2,5-Zoll-Laufwerk sowie 4 GByte Arbeitsspeicher auf zwei Bänken. Die weiteren Komponenten sind nicht direkt zugänglich.

Die Schnittstellen verteilen sich weiterhin über die rechte und linke Gehäuseseite.( Acer Aspire 3680 Akku )Der Umfang hat sich bei der neuen Generation kaum verändert und wurde nur dem aktuellen Standard angepasst.( Akku Sony VGP-BPS13b/b ) Neben den alten Ports, wie beispielsweise VGA, drei USB-2.0-Ports, RJ-45 und die Audioanschlüsse inklusive S/PDIF, sind nun auch USB 3.0 sowie ein HDMI-Ausgang mit 1.4a-Unterstützung (Highspeed with Ethernet, maximal 100 Mbit, 3D-fähig) an Bord. eSATA oder ein ExpressCard 34 Slot vermissen wir aber auch bei dem aktuellen Gerät. Ein nettes Feature ist die Power-Off Charging-Funktion über den USB-3.0-Port. Damit lässt sich Peripherie auch im ausgeschalteten Zustand aufladen.

Die Aufteilung der gebotenen Anschlüsse scheint bei alltäglicher Nutzung nachteilig.( Akku Sony VGP-BPS13B/S ) Die Positionierung im vorderen Bereich auf Höhe der Handballenauflage sorgt schnell für Kabelsalat und behindert das Arbeiten mit einer externen Maus. Unter einer kleinen Abdeckung an der Rückseite findet sich ein Dummy-Schacht für eine SIM-Karte. Ein TimelineX 5830TG mit integriertem UMTS-Modul findet sich aber bisher nicht im Internet.

Der Lieferumfang entspricht dem üblichen Sparkurs vieler Hersteller.(Akku VGP-BPS10/B ) Neben dem Gerät finden sich in der Verpackung das 90 Watt Netzteil mit Netzkabel und diverse Handbücher.( Dell D630 Akku ) Ein Datenträger oder sonstige Beigaben sind nicht vorhanden.
