Apple warns: iPod Nano devices flammable

Hundreds of thousands of the VGP-BPS13 Battery players that were sold in Japan are in danger of combustion.Following a two-year investigation and pressure from the Japanese government, Apple will upload a special warning page, and training to replace faulty batteries in the device.

A report from AP yesterday states that following pressure from the Japanese government, Apple will issue a warning against damage and injuries that might occur by overheating of old iPod Nano players. Yesterday reported AP.


Presario V3000 Battery Finance Ministry reported 61 cases of battery overheating in the iPod Nano devices. All of the devices were sold between 2005 to 2006.The overheating caused distortion of the deviced body and burns to users. However, there are no reports of serious injuries.


The Japanese government pressured Apple to report the Dell GD761 Battery. Now, Apple responds to demands. Tom Neumeir, the company’s spokesman, stated that Apple will upload a Page, next week that warns of a dedicated battery failure, and explains how to replace it. The company will also send a warning email to customers.


Dell Studio 15 battery , Neumeir refused to provide information on the recurrence of this failure in other areas of the world, and it is unknown if devices from the damaged Series have been sold outside Japan.


The first damaged players were discovered in January 2008 in Kanagawa near Tokyo. Japan’s Finance Ministry received reports on Apple iPod devices emitting sparks, and even combusting. An examination revealed that the cause of the problem is the MA099J / rechargeable lithium – ion battery of the device. That same year, Japanese authorities turned to the Apple to issue a warning to buyers, but Apple delayed for reasons that are unclear.
